Conquering The Fridge Mountain - Fridge Recycling

International Waste Management Group has it's own fully licensed and planning approved site in Broxburn, West Lothian to recycle end-of-life refrigerator and freezer appliances using methods fully compliant with new EU Regulation 2037. IWMG can provide quality focused fridge de-manufacturing technology that has been tried and trusted over many years throughout Europe to Scotland TODAY!
IWMG are offering the Scottish fridge recycling market solutions RIGHT NOW!
IWMG has formed a partnership with SEG - a German company with many years experience in CFC extraction. The demanufacturing equipment provided by SEG offers systematic recycling that signifies a great deal more than just disposal. IWMG believe that this system recovers more CFC's in the coolant, cooling oil and the foam than other units on the market.
IWMG have taken advantage of SEG’s mobile plant capacity and the SEG Step I (pre-treatment) facility was be the first to be used. The pre-treatment operation involves extracting the CFC-oil mix under suction from the appliance’s cooling circuit. Critical components such as capacitors or mercury switches are removed at this stage leaving a fridge carcass that is ready for Step II processing. In Step II, the appliance carcass is shredded, the component materials are separated from one another and the CFC blowing agent in the insulating foam is recovered.
Having always kept a watchful eye on the activities of the European Commission in Brussels, it wasn’t all that surprising when the EU regulation 2037/2000 on ozone-depleting substances came into force October 2001. It was immediately clear that this would have huge implications for the fridge-recycling sector. SEG and IWMG made use of the time available to prepare for these changes, taking the necessary action so that when the time came, we would be able to react swiftly and efficiently to meet these new challenges.
IWMG can therefore offer an assurance that the equipment utilised by us in the recycling of refrigerators and freezers not only complies with the highest environmental standards but is also using proven and experienced technology.
As around 3 million domestic refrigerators are dumped every year in the UK—or over 7,000 a day; along with around 500,000 commercial units p.a. this is a sizable problem for local authorities, and private companies.
